  • Empower provider districts to develop and offer
    successful online courses to be approved and
    offered by the TxVSN 10 courses
  • Empower receiver districts by funding 336 courses
    for students

    student and online teacher
  • Provide professional development for
    administrators and support personnel to help
    districts develop local policies and procedures
    for successful online learning with stipend for
    online collaboration
  • Provide pd for online course instructors with

  • The state will fund courses for students through
    TxVSN.
  • Starts 9-1-2009
  • TxVSN is shutting down until Spring to make the
    changes

  • Providers will receive 400 for each student who
    successfully completes an electronic course if
    that course
  • Satisfies a curriculum requirement for
    graduation,
  • Is provided through the TxVSN
  • Is a part of a normal student course load.

  • Receiving districts will receive 80 to reimburse
    them for administrative costs for each student
    who successfully completes an electronic course.
  • The Commissioner of Education has the authority
    to establish rules and interpret terminology.

  • A definition of normal course load
  • A definition of successfully completes an
    electronic course
  • Many other policies and procedures.

  • The Vision 2020 grants cannot spend money on
    courses through TxVSN.
  • The Vision 2020 grants still have to spend their
    allocated amounts for online courses from other
    providers.
