2007-2008 Schedule Options
  • Goal Modify schedule to offer maximum
    flexibility and allow courses to be taught using
    a schedule that matches the content and substance
    of the course
  • Students have the opportunity to earn up to 30
    credits over 4 years
  • Gain 15 hours of instructional time per course
    per year
  • Year-long courses aligned with standardized
    assessments
  • Advisement time will be provided to support
    students
  • Flexibility options for scheduling courses before
    and after the traditional day

Grading and Reporting
  • Goal Utilize a grading and reporting system that
    allows students every opportunity to be
    successful and effectively communicates to
    parents
  • 6 week grading terms 6 12 18 24 30 36
  • Year-long classes will have a mid-term at the end
    of the 18 week term and a final exam at the end
    of the course (36 weeks)
  • Semester-long classes will have a final exam at
    the end of the semester (18 weeks)
  • Final grades and credit will be awarded at the
    end of the course.

  • Students will review Registration Process for
    2007-2008 school year and will receive
  • course selection sheet

  • directions on how to see their teachers'
    recommendations

    electives on Parent Portal from home.

Scheduling Cont.
  • The Portal opens March 27, so you have time to
    discuss your questions/concerns with your
    students' teachers regarding their
    recommendations. 
  • Parent Portal will remain open until April 11.
  • Student schedules will not be processed until all
    teacher recommendations and students' course
    selections are entered. 
  • Choosing classes is not on a first come first
    serve basis. 
  • Choosing alternate electives is vital as
    sophomore may not always get their first choice. 
  • Remember we are just beginning the scheduling
    process. 
  • Through the end of April, SFHS counselors are in
    the process of meeting with all of our current
    students.
