• the westin peachtree plaza hotel is committed to
  promoting the green campaign throughout its
  establishment and utilizes practices to minimize
  the natural resources used in its operation, and
  protect the environment through conservation.
• among initiatives in place are
• green guest room program which reduces the
  amount of water and chemical used in our laundry
  department by reducing the total number of washes
  completed for linens and terry. this is
  accomplished by our volunteer linen reuse program
  in the guestrooms.
• use of an ozone wash system which significantly
  decreases the amount of hot water and natural gas
  needed to launder items.
• installation of compact fluorescent light bulbs
  wherever practical in the building, reducing the
  electricity needed to light the hotel.
• implementation of our blue program which has
  targeted and reduced wasteful water practices and
  usage by implementing low flow faucets, tap water
  on request only, substitution of common washing
  practices for alternative methods.
• utilization of federally certified GS cleaning
  chemicals with a MSDS rating of 1 or less.
• recycling of materials and waste paper,
  cardboard, oil.
• member of the Convene Green Alliance (CGA).
• part of the Atlanta Downtown Zero Waste Zone
  focusing on reducing the environmental impact of
  waste in homes, workplaces and in the community.
  participants of this program have pledged to
  recycle, reuse spent grease for the local
  production of biofuel and compost or donate food
  residuals to drastically decrease the amount of
  waste going to landfills.
