Purpose, 1

• Integrate middleware services from technology
  providers targeted for the OSG
• Develop processes for validation and
  certification of OSG deployments
• Provide testbed for evaluation and testing of new
  services and applications
• Test and exercise installation and distribution
  methods
• Devise best practices for configuration management

• Establish framework for releases
• Provide feedback to service providers and VO
  application developers
• Allow contributions and testing of new,
  interoperable technologies with established
  baseline services
• Supply requirements and feedback for new tools,
  technology, and practices in all these areas

Activity Model, 1

• Requirements and schedule are determined with the
  OSG deployment activity
• The specific program of work will be driven by
  the deliverables from the satellite activities
• Effort will be drawn from affiliated OSG projects
  depending on the service
• Architectural coherence will maintained through
  participation with the blueprint group
• Configuration coherence is maintained with the
  deployment group

• The development core of the existing Grid3 that
  we are adding services to for the spring OSG
  deployment
• Package content

• Top level services
• Dedicated server machine identified at IU
• GridCat and Monalisa (there are some to-dos for
  each)
• Ganglia collector (2.5.6)
• 7 sites have installed the current version, but
  the top level services are not fully configured
• October 28 milestone
• site verify working on the 7 sites, reported
  correctly into GridCat

Grid3dev next steps and dependencies

• Need from MIS schedule for schema definition
  GLUE schema with Grid3 extensions?
• Need from MIS updated VO information providers
  (VO_jobs, VO_io)
• GRISs will be activated
• New MDS MIS group to advise
• Need from security activity schedule for extended
  VOMS capabilities will stick with current until
  then
• Addition of the first SE
• Patch upgrade mechanism grid3v2.1 ? grid3dev and
  functionality tests
