• The television came out in the 1950s. But, not
  everyone got one.
• People gathered around televisions to watch
  things like the Kings funeral and the Queens
  coronation in the 1950s.
• Over the years, television has changed with many
  more channels. Its now shown in colour and the
  screens are bigger.

• Radios were around in the wartime.
• You had to tune them in, so you could get a clear
  sound.
• They were big and bulky, often they came in brown
  or black, mostly black.
  (Nothing compared to how they are now)

• Most of the music was slow and boring until the
  1950s, not like the music we have now.
• It used to be classical, now there isnt much of
  that!
• People are developing their own style, which is
  good.

• Over the years, cooking habits have changed, a
  lot.
• Now, we eat a lot more processed and fast foods,
  such as ready meals and Pot Noodles.
• All cooking used to be done at home, or in
  restaurants meat would be from the Butchers,
  fruit and vegetables would be from a market
  stall, etc.

• Before washing machines, people had to wash
  clothes by hand.
• Wash Day was on a Monday even until the 1970s.
• They didnt use Tumble Driers (they hadnt been
  invented yet) so the wet washing dried on the
  washing line, outside.
