Traditionally
  • Trends in the ambient levels of key air
pollutants can be gauged through appropriate and
    systemic monitoring.
  • In Thailand, the air quality monitoring system is
well developed. The Pollution Control Department
(PCD) has taken the lead in monitoring of key air
    pollutants, establishing ambient standards, and
recommending policy measures to reduce air
    pollution in critical areas.

5
Policy on air quality management
  • To mitigate air pollution problems in
    non-attainment areas
  • To maintain air quality in attainment areas not
to exceed the national ambient air quality
    standards

Summary Conclusion
  • Air quality assessment includes continually
improvement of emissions, ambient data, and air
quality modeling to enhance the design,
implementation and evaluation of air quality
    management programs and related control
    strategies
  • The assessment must show timely and meaningful
pollutant trends and impacts, providing the
public with clear and transparent information
that can be effectively used to help them better
understand the air quality in their area, how it
can affect their health, and how changes in their
activities can reduce emissions and improve air
    quality.
