Farewell Bulletin Board for Departing RA
StaffSubmitted by LaMont Johnson, Assistant
Community Manager for Residence Life, University
of Louisville Properties Okay, we all know the
cliche' "saying goodbye is the hardest thing to
do," but there is so much truth to that
statement. At the end of the academic year it is
tradition that I do a "farewell" bulletin board
in honor of the departing senior/graduate
RA staff.  Usually it has a TV theme to it.   The
name of our building is Bettie Johnson Hall (A
490 bed student apartment facility on the
University of Louisville campus). Last year it
was a very emotional time leading up to
graduation for the Bettie Johnson Hall staff.  I
was losing 7 of the best and the brightest
Resident Advisors I have ever had on my staff.  I
put up this bulletin board (see next slide) in
the main foyer of the building to dedicate
to these wonderful RAs.  We were teary-eyed all
week (literally) because we had been through a
lot together.  Now these special seniors were
sprouting their wings, soaring into the real
world with their respective careers and starting
new lives.  I am very proud of them because this
was a very special group.  Here we are fittingly.
Neat huh?
