Record Voices Method 1 Garage Band
  • Open a new Garage Band Podcast Episode
  • Choose a tempo (beats per minute)
  • Select ONE of the two Blue Tracks (male voice or
    female voice)
  • Click the Record Button to start the recording.
  • Hit the Return key or space bar to stop.

Record Voices Method 2 Audacity
  • Download the free Audacity application from
    http//audacity.sourceforge.net/
  • Open Audacity and click the record button to
    record.
  • Select the recorded file, then Normalize.
  • Export the file as an mp3.
  • Drag-and-drop into Garage Band Podcast Episode.

Record Voices Method 3 ipod
  • Attach iTalk microphone to ipod. Select voice
    memo. Select start recording. When finished,
    Stop and Save.
  • Download iTunes.
  • Convert the recordings to mp3.
  • (Optional) Open in Audacity for advanced editing.
  • Import into Garage Band Podcast Episode using
    Media Browser.

  • Open new Garage Band Music file
  • Select a tempo.
  • Add a new software instrument.

  • Double click to edit instrument.
  • Select an instrument..
  • Select the Musical Typing keyboard.

  • Click record button to star recording.
  • Use the computer keyboard like a musical keyboard
    to record musical notes.
  • Double click the recorded loop to edit individual
    notes or all of the notes.
  • Select all, adjust the quantize level, then
    quantize (align).
  • Add more instruments and repeat this process.

  • Drag the ends of the loops to lengthen them.
  • Create a new (Real) instrument.
  • Select the instrument and double click to select
    a vocal Instrument.

  • Turn off the metronome, and use headphones to
    isolate the recording.
  • Click the record button to start recording. Sing
    into the computers microphone.
  • Double click the instrument (voice) to edit the
    sound or lengthen it. Experiment with Pan,
    Volume, and Filters.

  • Export the Music to iTunes.

  • Edit photos
  • Movieimovie (export as quicktime)

  • Open new Garage Band podcast episode
  • Use Media browser to import voice and music
    files, OR
  • Drag and drop voice and music files into Garage
    Band

  • Use media browser to import images, OR
  • Drag and drop video or photos into podcast track
  • Adjust the volume level of each audio track
  • Use the up arrow Ducking to adjust balance

Upload to the Web
  • Log on to Urban Planets Net Engine.
  • Select a location (page) for the podcast(s).
  • Select Audio/podcast attachment.
  • Browse for the location of the podcast, upload,
    apply, apply, save.
