  • Games of Low Organization
  • Remember, these are your cards so let your
    personality and interest show through!

Activities Cards
  • You should have a minimum of six activities/games
    for each of the five categories.
  • Activities/games must be inclusive and not
    exclusive
  • If you use an activity/game in one category you
    cannot use that same activity/game in a different
    category also.
  • Cards must be 5 X 8 no other size will be
    acceptable.
  • Cards may be typed or handwritten.

  • Grade/Age level
  • Category
  • Purpose
  • Objective
  • Equipment needed
  • Place to play
  • Rules
  • Adaptations for Special Needs Students
  • Must be included other components may be
    omitted.

  • On the next slide is a sample of how a card that
    contains all components may look.

  • Adaptations for special needs students may be
    difficult to anticipate ahead of time
  • Dont forget to include audio-visual needs in the
    equipment section
  • Keep the rules as simple as possible

Why Do Activity Cards?
  • It is a powerful tool for your classroom
  • Used to reinforce academic skills in a variety of
    other subject areas
  • Used to work fitness and wellness activities into
    your class routine and/or curriculum
  • The activities can be a reward for staying on
    task during other subjects

Why Do Activity Cards? (cont)
  • You will have several ready made lessons prior to
    entering the classroom in case you are required
    to do teacher directed physical education
  • Lets students know you value fun, fitness, and
    wellness activities
  • Reward. Let a deserving student select a card
    for the days activities

  • Do I have to stick with the format shown
    previously?
  • If I have no interest in some areas, do I have to
    do cards for that area?
  • Should I laminate my cards after they are
    complete?
  • Should I add cards to my file on a regular basis?
  • Do I really need to type my cards?

Before you turn your cards in
  • Create a title card that includes
  • Your name
  • Course number and section
  • Semester and year (Example Fall, 2007)
  • Bind your cards with rubber bands only! Do not
    use spiral-ring-bound cards, clips, or any other
    binding items.
  • Please submit your cards on time!
