    least one No-Notice exercise in a 5 year cycle
  • ER has name recognition within DOD and
    Interagency
  • ER has established history of regular execution
  • Interagency participation has been critical to ER
    success Typical participants have included
  • CSG DOS-Counter terrorism DOS-Regional
    DOS-Embassy DNI Staff, DOJ, FBI, DOE
  • ER cannot go it alone as an add-on exercise
    outside NEP
  • ER has been flexible with various
    themes/theaters/other exercise linkages
  • Potential for synergy in combining ER
    requirements with NEP No-Notice requirements
  • Exercise planning efforts can be teamed between
    DOD and interagency partners
  • Interagency-wide objectives can be achieved
  • Plan to further explore the combining of ER with
    NEP-No Notice Exercise
