Being an LSTC is like
  • ...a plate of spaghetti because everything is
    going in so many different directions.
  • ...the weather because there are stormy and calm
    phases with the occasional hurricane.

What do I do as an LSTC???
  • At the end of some days I could not tell you what
    I have accomplished the previous nine hours.
  • There is no such thing as a typical day...thats
    the GREAT part about the job.

  • For the most part this is not a task-oriented
    job...it is a people-oriented job
  • If you do not like serving and helping others, it
    will be difficult to be happy in the LSTC
    position.
  • Dealing with other peoples problems/needs is a
    large part of the LSTC position...Dont let this
    frustrate you...thats the job.

  • Assisting summer school teachers with
    Successmaker and CRCT Online.
  • Assisting parents with at-home Successmaker.
  • New teacher staff development.

  • Two computer labs at Head.
  • Online scheduling.
  • Teacher request assistance as needed.

  • In reality, assisting teachers in instructional
    setting is small part of my job.

Conclusion
  • There is no such thing as a typical day in the
    life of an LSTC...thats the great thing about
    the job.
  • LSTC position is often one of a problem solver.
    I see a problem and my job is to find a solution.
  • Most of the time you are dealing with other
    peoples problems...or working on matters that
    others deem important. Dont let this frustrate
    you...thats the job.
  • If you enjoy helping and serving others you will
    love this job...If not ...
