8
Lakepromo the 4th Steering group meetingThe
third Lakepromo Progress Report
  • Lessons learned concerning financial management
  • Questions and changes need to be negotiated
beforehand between partner and lead partner as
well as lead partner and JTS
  • Rules have to be strictly followed only
appropriately audited costs can be included in
    the LPs report to JTS
  • Clear allocation of Lakepromo meeting costs to
components (in direct relation to the time spent
    per CP)
  • Accurate reporting by partners (correct figures)
  • Auditors (external and internal) must familiarize
themselves to the INTERREG IIIC budget line
principles, component division and timing -gt to
be able to catch up possible mistakes
  • Lead partner has to check partner reports
thoroughly at once and ask everything that is
unclear -gt at least the next version of a partner
report will be the final one
  • Corrections have to be done promtly

9
Lakepromo the 4th Steering group meetingChanges
concerning the part of Budapest University
  • Partner 10 (The Budapest University of Technology
and Economics) has requested for drop out
Lakepromo partnership due to troubles with their
    financial management.
  • - Budget around 40 500 ERDF-financed part
    left (total budget
  • 54 000 , 25 co-financing)
  • Description of expertise The Department of
Hydraulic and Water Resources Engineering to be
involved in this project has long been
coordinated and/or contributed to lake projects
both in Hungary and abroad (Finland, Austria,
Cambodia) on hydro- and sediment dynamics, water
    level control, littoral-pelagic zone interaction,
    habitat, restoration and management issues.
  • It is suggested that the remaining budget and
tasks will be shifted to another
Lakepromo-partner (Estonian partner? also a new
    EU-country)

10
Lakepromo the 4th Steering group meetingChanges
concerning the part of Budapest University
  • The shift should be done as soon as possible to
    avoid more underspending!
  • The official Request for Change documents,
including a new co-financing statement should be
sent to the Joint Technical Secretariat of
    Interreg IIIC North
  • Added tasks?

specific items will arise during this latter part
    of Lakepromo

  • STRATEGIC FOCUS of Component 2 (The
    information-packages, data analysis)
  • To gather present knowledge and former
experiences in the field of water management and
restoration procedures from partner regions and
to report this information in a structured,
easily comparable manner thus give the basis
    for further co-operative projects
  • - Original timeframe until the end of June 2006
-gt the lead partner has requested for some
additional time until the end of December 2006

  • It is suggested that they provide an overview in
German of the example of their pilot setting and
translate the joint summary manual in German
  • - Joint Summary Manual will be prepared by the
lead partner during summer (additional time for
component 2 has been requested and received until
    the end of 2006)

Lakepromo the 4th Steering group meetingFeedback
  • -financial management and reporting is a
demanding task special attention should be paid
to accurate division between components and
    different budget lines
  • -common difficulty in lake management how to
activate local people to participate in
  • -pilot areas differ quite much from each other
the challenge is how to exchange experiences and
best practices (information packages may help in
    understanding better others processes)
  • -contacts to other projects and experts from
    other countries (the Netherlands, Sweden..)?
  • -collected, analyzed and critically assessed
experiences to the webpages? How to divide,
could each partner collect knowledge and examples
    for their own special expertise?
