• These plans were made in heaven

that a young girl had a rather unusual
visitor. The news he brought was even more

And so it was that Mary was carrying a child Not
just any child but the Son of God himself - God
in human form. After Mary had become pregnant,
the Emperor Augustus ordered a census to be
taken. All the men had to register in the town
where they were born

Because of the census, which required every man
to take his family to his birthplace, Joseph took
Mary to Bethlehem, a small town which could not
cope with all its exiles now returning
