  • Judiazers, Demanded that Gentiles first become
    Jews before becoming Christians. They taught that
    the OT was the revealed Word of God and therefore
    its command were obligatory upon all who sought
    to live according to the divine will.
  • Paul, etc., Argued that the observance of of such
    external obligations proved unavailing in his own
    spiritual odyssey and the OT spoke of Abraham as
    justified by faith long before the Mosaic law had
    been promulgated.

    controversy which gave rise to the Jerusalem
    Council.

    Council, c. 48-49 A.D. The letter contains no
    reference to the Councils decision, see Gal.
