CRADAFrequently Asked Questions
  • Who can participate in the CRADA?
  • The Georgia Aerospace Innovation Center
represents Georgia under the CRADA. Georgia
companies are welcome to propose technology
project consortia to meet the needs of the USAF,
just as USAF program managers and engineers may
ask the Innovation Center to form a consortium
    around a USAF technology need.
  • What technologies are being transferred?
  • The CRADA was written to encompass virtually any
technology needs of the Wings and Tenant
Combatant Commands resident at Warner Robins AFB,
meaning everything from process innovation and
work-flow improvement technologies to the most
    sophisticated radar, avionics and electronic
warfare technologies. In a consortium formed by
the Innovation Center under the CRADA, companies
and researchers will have access to information
regarding the technological challenge and the
urgency of the need to support the warfighter.
It will be up to the consortium to develop a
solution working with the relevant USAF personnel.

19
CRADAFrequently Asked Questions (continued)
  • Will working under the CRADA mean a contract with
    the USAF?
  • Consortia that succeed in developing a needed
technology at a reasonable price have a
much-improved chance of winning a USAF contract,
but there are no guarantees. The Aerospace
Innovation Center will work in consultation with
the USAF procurement office and the technical
sponsor on a procurement strategy that is
    advantageous to the public-private partnership
    nature of the consortia.
  • Is the CRADA funded by the USAF?
  • No. The CRADA is an agreement to exchange
technology and information. It is not a small
    business set-aside. Participants in
CRADA-enabled consortia bring their own money and
abilities to explore solutions in a formal
collaboration that may lead to contracting
opportunities between the consortia and the USAF.
  • I have an idea for something the USAF might
need. How do I propose my idea under the CRADA?
  • The Georgia Aerospace Innovation Center is your
    first point of contact. http//aerospace.georgiai
