  • It is a way to ensure that existing fire and life
    safety systems are properly functioning.

  • It helps protects the public and Firefighters in
    emergency situations
  • Helps Builders -some systems allow builders
    to use fewer exits, less substantial fire
    separation (thinner walls), etc.
