Academic Performance

• Minimum 3.5 for Medical School
• Minimum 3.3 for Dental School, with similar
  minimums for Optometry School, Vet School,
  Pharmacy School
• High GPA in Science and Math Courses

Standardized Tests

• Competitive MCAT score is around 30 (average at
  IU SOM is 29.4), with no one score below 8
• Competitive DAT score around 20 (with special
  attention paid to the Perceptual Ability Test
  PAT)

Community and Service Involvement

• Wabash Community such as athletics, newspaper,
  clubs of interest, research, leadership roles
• Crawfordsville Community such as mentoring
  local youth, Habitat for Humanity, tutoring,
  translating, volunteering at hospital or nursing

• 1 year Physics (Phys 111, 112 or 113)
• Calculus (Ma 111, 1121 semester or 1 year)
• English Composition (Eng 101 or 201 1 semester
  or 1 year)
• Cumulative GPA 3.5 or greater to be competitive

Timing

• Standardized tests are usually taken in the
  Spring of your junior year (for MCATs and DATs).
• The application process begins the spring of your
  Junior year and includes soliciting faculty for
  letters of recommendation.
• Interviews will take place from Aug January of
  your senior year.

  need to major in biology or chemistry to go to
  medical school.

• Meet with Pre-Health Advisor
• Always have a Plan B
