Major Areas of Interest (MAIs)
  • MAIs are required for students pursuing a

  • A student must successfully complete a total of 4
MAI credits in order to graduate, but they do not
have to be enrolled in their MAI every year
  • What does this mean?
  • Students choose when they will take their credits
    in their MAI
  • A student can take as many as four credits and as
little as none in a school year

12
MAIs
  • MAIs are not mandatory for students working
towards a special diploma, but are encouraged
  • All students should be given the opportunity to
participate in any MAI (with appropriate
    supports/ accommodations)

    collaboration efforts
