  • 1889 on the initiative of the Société Zoologique
    de France
  • Members up to 700 in Budapest Congress in 1927
  • 1400 members and 400 associates in London
    Congress
  • Members reached 2500 in Washington Congress in
    1963
  • 1972 XVIIth ICZ in Monte Carlo, attendance was
    poor and the proceedings was never published

  • The XVIIIth ICZ was held in Athens, Greece in
    August, 2000
  • 233 delegates from 36 countries

  • successfully applied for holding the XIX ICZ in

Program and Abstract
  • Many symposium organizer are too busy, therefore
    some papers were missing. A few organizers didn't
    organized well the work.
  • Two different persons were in charge of
    scientific program and abstract editing which
    lead to some inconsistent problem.
  • Program inconsistent with abstract

  • Various ways of presentation application and
    abstract submission led to the difficulty in
    consolidation, such as missing and repeating

  • Program should be checked with organizer in
    advance and inform all the participants to
    confirm online to avoid mistake
  • Need to take measures to avoid mistake
  • Try to contact the symposium organizer, If the
    program changes

PPT Copy
  • Never underestimate the workload of getting PPT
    files (about 120) ready for 15 conference rooms.
  • Need 2 more persons, 2 more computers and 2 more
    removable disks
  • Prepared half day in advance
  • Should seek other ways to solve the problem, for
    example, let the organizers of each symposium
    take charge

  • One for each conference room is necessary
  • Each volunteers must be trained and understand
    the responsibilities clearly
