What is Intention?
  • Involves directing the mind with purpose and
    efficacy toward some object or outcome
  • Its not about doing its about believing
    holding that belief in your mind
  • Practicing intention represents both challenges
    opportunities for deepening our understanding of
    how we create our days

Tips on Setting Intentions
  • The key is to believe you already have it! Not
    to simply want it.
  • Frame in the positive
  • Unreasonable optimism and the sense that the
    chosen reality is already real.
  • Note, for example, the present tense "I am
    experiencing..." We're not talking wishes or
    dreams the plan is feeling the improved reality
    in the presence.

  • May devoutly believe that if you drive the wrong
    way at 90 miles an hour down a one-way street,
    some force of nature is going to keep you from
    having a head-on collision.
  • Belief does not alter realities of physics...or
    realities of rush-hour traffic.
  • Within limits of the laws of nature, you can
    choose what to believe alter own "reality."
  • You can believe negative things about reality
    too.

Other Tips
  • Have someone you know trust help you determine
    what habits or actions of yours will keep you
    from creating your new reality.
  • Write out a list of things you need to change,
    based on what this friend tells you.
  • Concentrate on one item from the list and work on
    it until you can change it, then move on to the
    next.
  • Work on the principle of replacing a bad habit
    with a good one. If you want to quit smoking, for
    example, substitute strenuous exercise.
  • Remember the three rules of successful change
    perseverance, and perseverance, and yet more
    perseverance.

    drop an element of your old reality, or pick up
    an element of your new reality.
