Kathy Bizarro Visit to HMC

• I was able to spend 4 days with the wonderful
  people of Hancock Medical Center (Feb. 10-13,
  2006).
• They are working very hard to get HMC back up and
  running as a fully functional hospital.
• They are currently operating 25 beds as a
  Critical Access Hospital (down from 104 beds
  before the hurricane).
• They are starting to do surgeries and are
  accepting obstetrics patients and emergency
  department patients.

• Additional funding for employees who are still
  displaced
• Specialized hospital construction staff support
• Non-skilled support for assistance with hospital
  aesthetics (paint, wallpaper, art work, etc).
• IT / Network Administration / Web support
• Pharmacy back-up (one of HMCs pharmacists will
  be out on medical leave starting in mid-March).
