Course Description I
  • The on-campus course is designed to provide an
    overview of the history, culture, and social
    relations in contemporary Thai society to provide
    background information before students embark
    upon their off-campus experience in Thailand.

Course Description II
  • The course will look at how social changes affect
    gender, ethnic and class relations and it will
    critically analyze the impact of the processes on
    different groups in the society and observe the
    manifestations of these effects on daily
    interactions.

Course Description III
  • This course is not only designed to address
    social problems, it also examines efforts and
    programs to overcome and negotiate over the
    problems. In connection to this theme, service
    learning is a pivotal part for the off campus
    portion of the course.
