Philosophy Statements
  • I believe that
  • Excellence is achieved through passion and the
    will to exceed all expectations.
  • A professional has the will to learn, the drive
to succeed and the confidence that they can and
    will achieve their goals.
  • A business could not exist without its
customers. Therefore, they should be given the
    upmost respect and appreciation through
    exceptional customer service.
  • While teamwork is essential to a successful
business, it is also salient for one to be
    self-reliant and proficient.

    within the company.

  • Iconic Society Apparel
  • (T-Shirt Line)
  • I was in charge of designing the new t-shirt
line, Iconic Society Apparel, introduced by
Athalias Boutique. The designs used for the line
all came from artwork done by the owners sister.

Trend Forecasting
16
Trend Forecasting
  • These trend boards represent my forecast for
    women in 2008.
  • Women would be classy and chic with a romantic
    and royal influence.
  • The loose, feminine, shapeless tops,
high-waists, short skirts and empire dress trends
of the time would evolve into a more
form-fitting, classy look with long flowing
dresses, knee length skirts and feminine cut tops
    that compliment womens anatomy.

Creating A Collection
Inspired For this project I was responsible for
creating trend boards to express my inspiration
for a prospective Ralph Lauren collection,
InSpired. This summer/fall 2007 collection
reflects the existing target market of affluent
women ages 24-35. Featured in this project are
trends boards, renderings of the designs and
suggested fabrics.

Body Scanning
There are eight cameras and 4 lasers that
scan the body capturing 300,000 points of
measurements in 12 seconds.
The thermal camera captures the bodys
thermal temperatures. This is a thermal image

Creating a Collection Black Rose Fall
2008 Pre-teen 9-12
26
Creating a Collection
  • Black Rose
  • Black Rose is a collection created for Limited
Too. The target market for this line is pre-teens
ages 9-12. I designed with the intention of
making girls look like girls again as opposed to
    little women.
  • Black Rose gives girls back their innocence and
distinguishes girls from women. It advocates self
    confidence and appreciation. While redirecting
pre-teen girls attention from the desire to
maintain a superficial lifestyle, Black Rose
gives children the freedom to have fun in their
    own element.
  • Limited Too was impressed by my designs. Of
the four collections, they appreciated the School
Wear collection most because of its attention to
    detail.

Reinventing Legacy
32
Reinventing Legacy
  • Zulu Nation
  • The objective for Re-inventing Legacy was to
design a modern day outfit that represents my
heritage during the 19th century or earlier. I
sought inspiration from Zulu Nation in South
Africa during the late 18th and early 19th
    century.
  • During this time, women of the Zulu Nation did
not conceal their breast. However, when they did
begin to wear tops, they were simple wraps that
resembled what we know as halter or belly tops.
  • (This assignment did not require that it be
    constructed in a fashion fabric).
