INPUT ARRANGEMENT FOR RABI (2007-08)
  • SEEDS
  • Total requirement of Rabi/Summer is 26204 Qtls
    for GOJ schemes.
  • The requirement 500 qtls is available and the
    rest will be obtained from BRBN/NSC/SFCI and
    other agencies.

FERTILIZER The total requirement for Rabi is
70,000 M.T. urea and 30000 DAP , others 5000 MT

REQUIRED MEASURES FOR IMPROVEMENT OF CROP
PRODUCTION
  • Area Expansion, Crop coverage during Rabi is
    targeted as 4.70 lakh ha instead of last year
    target of 2.25 lakh ha.
  • Input Supply Quality seed are being supplied
    to different identified crop land where water
    resources are available.
  • Seed Replacement - Local inferior varieties are
    replaced through HYV certified seeds and the SRR
    is 5 to 24.
  • Increase in area coverage of Paddy in identified
    area through Hybrid Paddy Seeds.
  • Demonstration of zero tillage to attract more
    farmers towards viable wheat production.
  • Balanced use of fertilizer and supply of
    Bio-fertilizers.

MEASURES FOR IMPROVEMENT OF CROP PRODUCTION
Technology dissemination through KVK, ATMA, ZRS
Soil mapping and nutrient demand ascertained
through soil testing.
Cropping intensity increased through optimum use
of all water storage structures. Watershed
management in 200 Micro-Watersheds and thereby an
additional increase in cropping intensity
increasing crop production.

    farmers.
  • 200 Micro watershed comprising of many Villages
    are tuned to impart new Agriculture technology.
  • 22 ATMA district, SAMETI, ETC Hehal, SCRTC,
    Demotand, SWTC, Nagri are revived and revitalized
    to act an agent of Extension Reforms.
  • 1 Lakh Agriculture Technology Book has been
    distributed among farmers 2002-03, 2003-04,
    2004-05, 2005-06

POST HARVEST MANAGEMENT
  • Protected cultivation of flowers and vegetables
    are in progress
  • Pre-cooling facility in 3 production centers.
  • Refrigerated VAN facilities to farmers group.
  • Packaging, grading Storing facilities at
    Ranchi.
  • Pick up VAN to 50 Agri- Clinics.
  • Under Convergence of Horticulture Programme,
    construction
  • of 54 nos. of Post Harvest management
    centers are in operation.

REJUVENATION OF EXISTING INFRASTRUCTURE
  • 22 seed multiplication farms are being revived
    with basic infrastructure.
  • 28 block nurseries have been rejuvenated.
  • Quality seeds and planting material will be
    available from 2007-08.
  • Strengthening of seed testing laboratory-
    Ranchi/Jamshedpur and Sahebganj.
  • Establishment of two new quality control
    laboratory- Dumka and E. Singhbhum.
  • Establishment of Bio pesticide laboratory and
    grow out test farm.

  • Under Extension Reforms, 22 ATMA districts
    (Except Ramgarh Khunti) were functional in
    Jharkhand.
  • State Agricultural Management Extension
    Training Institute (SAMETI), Jharkhand, a State
    level Training Institution has organized near
    about 11 training programme from April to Aug,
    2008 under which 350 extension functionaries and
    progressive farmers of ATMA districts were
    benefited.
  • Post Graduate Diploma Programme of Govt. of
    India- 78 extension functionaries from 8 old
    ATMA districts were enrolled during the year
    2007-08. This year apx. 110 extension
    functionaries will be nominated from 22 ATMA
    districts of Jharkhand for skill upgradition.

  • Farmers Scientists Interaction programme- 500
    progressive farmers from 22 ATMA districts were
    provided new technology of Rice Cultivation (SRI)
    and also provided 6 kg hybrid seeds each of
    PROAGRO-6444.

  • Objectives
  • Increasing production of rice through area
    expansion and productivity enhancement in a
    sustainable manner in the identified districts of
    the country.
  • Restoring soil fertility and productivity at the
    individual farm level.
  • Creation of employment opportunities
  • Increasing farmer profits to restore confidence
    amongst the farmers.
  • Strategies
  • Implementation in a mission mode through active
    engagement of all the stakeholders at district
    level viz. district level officials, Scientists
    of KVK, NGO and progressive farmers identified
    through ATMA.
  • Promotion and extension of improved technologies
    i.e. Seed, Integrated Nutrient Management
    including micronutrients, soil amendments, IPM
    and resource conservation technologies along with
    capacity building of farmers through ATMA like
    institutions at the district level.

    notified as State Nodal Agency and the 5 ATMA
    districts has been notified as District Nodal
    Agency for implementation in Jharkhand.

    proposal of Rs. 10.97 Crore submitted to GOI.
  • For proper implementation of NFSM programme,

    process.
