History

• On all the history of the everglades it has been
  almost impossible for someone to explore its
  lands because the saw grass is too tall. Native
  Amer7icans were the first human beings on the
  Everglades. From 1841-1856 the U.S military
  attacked the Everglades to take out the Seminoles
  who took refuge in there. During 1881 and 1896 a
  private company that owned 4,000,000 acres of the
  everglades teied to dig canals from lake
  Okeechobee to the Gulf of Mexico. This event cost
  1,035,000. A big threat of the Everglades is the
  Melaleuca tree. The tiny trees seeds were
  planted on purpose. The seeds suck up water and
  make the land of the Everglades suitable for
  development.

Geographical Features

• The open waters of the Florida bay, Whitewater
  Bay, are located in the Everglades. There is
  about 10,000 islands. The Florida Bay is less
  than 3 feet deep. It is a shallow bay. It is
  considered one of the waterspout capitals of the
  world. The Whitewater bay. The whitewater bay is
  leads into the Oyster Bay to the west of it.
  Whitewater Bay is an inlet of the gulf of Mexico.
