District Technology Plan Point your browser to
http//eds.ospi.k12.wa.us/
Step 1
Username e-mail address Password as assigned
by district Click on Login

Click on View my applications

Click on School Improvement Planning Tool.

Select your district.

If you are starting your Technology Plan for the
first time, click on the Go button next to
create a new plan and go on to Step 6. If you
have already started the plan (i.e., you created
a draft for E-rate purposes), click on the Go
button next to continue working on a plan, then
skip to Step 8.

Select the date range for the plan (e.g.,
2007-2010), type in a Plan Name, select the Grade
Levels (e.g., K-12), and check the box for the
plan type (e.g., District-Level Technology Plan).

Click on Go next to To create a new plan.

Click on the Plan tab (Tab 6).

Click on the Craft Action Plan on the left
navigation menu.

Click on the Add Technology Goals link

Click on the Add button to enter your first
goal.

Type in the Goal Title and SMART Goal Statement,
and select the appropriate Goal Type from the
pull-down list that fits your Goal.

Click on the Contextual Data radio button, then
check the appropriate data element that matches
the Goal.

Click on the Save button

Click on the Add button to add more Goals, and
use the Next button when you are done adding
Goals.

Click on the Add button to add a Strategy for
this Goal.

Type in the Strategy, then add the Rationale and
Evaluation Procedure (both optional). Then select
the Strategy Type from the pull-down list.

Click on the Save button to save the Strategy,
then click on the Add button that appears to
add one or more Activities to go with the
Strategy.

Type in the Activity/Task, Professional
Development, Evaluation, People Involved, and the
Start and End Dates, then be sure to click on the
Save button.

If you want to add one or more Resources to the
Activity, click on the Add button which
appears when you save the Activity.

Type in the Description, select the Type from the
pull-down menu, type in the cost (do not use a
sign with the number) and Funding Source, and
click on the Save button.

Continue adding Activities and Resources, or go
back a level to add more Strategies to the same
Goal, using the Back to Strategies button. Once
you are done adding Strategies, click on Back to
Strategies one more time.

To go back a level to add new Strategies for a
different Goal, use the Back to Goals button.
Step 24
When you are all done entering your Goals,
Strategies, and Activities, click on the Next
button, which should move you to the Additional
Key Elements Part 1 page.

Enter your Technology Vision Statement, check the
Inventory and CIPA compliance boxes, and fill in
District Technology Standards and Budget Summary,
then hit the Save button. The Next button
will move you on to the Additional Key Elements
Part 2 page, where you can enter or update
items as needed. Be sure to Save before using
the Next button.
Step 26
If you need to upload your Building Technology
Plans (as Word or PDF documents) or have other
documents you would like to include, use the
Upload Additional Plan Material step to do so.

If you would like to view your entire District
Technology Plan or print it, click on Create
Report on the left-navigation on any screen.
Step 28
Check the box next to District Technology Plan,
and if you want to save your plan as a Word
document, check the box next to that. If not,
click on the Next button to view and/or print
your plan.

When your District Technology Plan is ready for
review, click on the Plan Review tab at the top
of any screen.
Step 30
Check the box next to District Technology Plan,
and then check on the link to Send Request
Review Email. Add any comments you want to the
message that is generated, then hit Send
Message to notify the ESD or OSPI that your plan
is ready for review.
