  • Jazz music was the new craze in 1920s America.
    This had notes off the beat.
  • New composers created a completely new style of
    music.
  • This was the first time America had taken the
    lead in a new form of music.

  • The 1920s were a golden age for films
  • In 1922, Toll of the Sea became the first all
    colour film.
  • In 1926, Don Juan became the first film to use
    music and sound effects.
  • By 1929, On with the Show had become the first
    all colour, all sound film.

  • The 1920s saw the breakout of sport as a
    pass-time.
  • Baseball, American Football, and Boxing were the
    most popular.
  • Most cities had a ballpark where people could go
    and play.

  • In the 1800s, Europe contained most of the
    worlds great authors. Dickens was English, while
    Tolstoy and Dostoevsky were Russian.

    twenties was T.S Eliot.
  • His set of poems have since become a stage

  • Womens fashion changed a lot in the 1920s.
    Ladies abandoned the corsets and flowing locks of
    times past and wore shorter dresses and shorter
    hairstyles.
  • Dancing was fashionable. People went to dance
    halls to foxtrot, waltz, and tango. They also did
    the Charleston.
