What is a Smart Board?

• Product of Smart Technologies
• Large, touch-controlled screen
• Works with a projector and computer
• Mounted on wall or floor stand
• Used face-to-face or virtually
• Created in 1991

The Smart Pen Tray

• All Smart Boards have a pen tray
• Holds 4 pens and 1 eraser
• No electronic components or ink in pens

• Smart part is in the tray
• Pen is removed and one can write in that color
  using finger or pen

• Content Delivery Platform
• Access to interactive multimedia
• Tools to edit, save, and share

• Able to demonstrate use of different computer

Classroom

• Shadow on Board
• Hand must not touch while pen is writing
• Constant realignment
• Takes up much space
• Time consuming
• Difficult for special needs students
