- From my experience when I let my mind do
the thinking by just opening up and following
where my feet take me, I never seem to have
difficulty finding photographs to take. But my
usual picture taking philosophy didnt help me
come up with a sensible body of work. When I take
pictures I look beyond just a persons smile or an
objects use. Things are more than just inanimate
objects and people are much deeper than just
there looks. In my body of work I let my feet
take me to where I needed to go, to where I would
find my pictures. My body of work has no major
theme or any way my pictures fit visually
together, they fit together because they all came
from me. These pictures have stories these
people have something more than just an outer
shell. When you look at my pictures you may find
some deeper meaning that I looked over or you may
not see what Im trying to get across at all. All
I ask is you look deeper and realize that there
is more to something than its looks. Colors can
represent moods or emotions. Or something as
simple as a cell phone can tell a love story.

11Biography
Since I can remember I have always been
interested in photography. Growing up , my
grandpa would bring home original photographs
from the lab he worked at. I always found beauty
in the photographs decorating my grandparent
home. I would wander around the house for hours
looking at the beautiful photography that covered
their home. When I was fourteen I purchased my
first real camera, a Nikon n75 that I named van.
I have always loved photography but not until
recently did I determine why I loved it so much.
I Photograph because you can see the world around
you in a different light. Thats what I love
about it, you can walk around, forgetting about
the bad and good and just escape into a world of
surrealism where anything you imagine can become
real. This is why I photograph, not to escape,
but to create, to see things in a new angle or
perspective. To capture the beauty in the world
around me and maybe even things that aren't so
attractive. But that's the beauty in photography,
you can see beauty, even in the ugliest things.
