• rubbing alcohol, acetone

Preventing Thefts (cont)

  necessary
• Park nurse tanks in a well-lighted area that is
  visible from the road.
• Ask the distributor to install locks which cover
  the valve stem.
• Ask the distributor to use GloTell or similar
  stain product with sticker on tank.

AN Security Requirements

• Requires retailers to
• Secure ammonium nitrate fertilizer at all times
  against theft or unauthorized access.
• Obtain certain information about the AN sale and
  purchaser.
• Keep records of ammonium nitrate sales for at
  least two years and make them available to MDA
  upon request. Records are exempt from disclosure
  under FOIA.
• Allows retailers the authority to refuse to sell
  AN fertilizer under suspicious circumstances.

AN Security Requirements

• Buying AN fertilizer?
• Heres what Michigan retailers will be asking
  for
• Date of sale
• Quantity purchased
• Purchasers drivers license number
• Purchasers name, address, and phone number.
• The agency relationship, if any, between the
  purchaser and the person picking up or accepting
  delivery of the fertilizer.
• Retailers must keep records for 2 years
