Objectives
1. Know when the navigation lights are to be
operated (Rule 20). 2. Know the arc and required
range of visibility for navigation lights
(Rule 21 - 22). 3. Know the color and flashing
periods of all special flashing lights (Rule
21). 4. Know the lighting configuration of all
vessels under inland rules (Rule 23-30).

Lights and Shapes (Rule 20)
1. The rules in this part shall be complied with
in all weather. 2. The rules shall be complied
with from sunset to sunrise, and during such
times as no other lights shall be exhibited which
would obstruct or be mistaken for navigational
lights. 3. The rules concerning shapes shall be
complied with by day
