Seven Days in Paris
3
How It All Began
  • One day we received an invitation to a wedding in
    Paris.
  • - We decided to accept.
  • - This meant there were a lot
    of arrangements to make!

4
We Were Only Going for Seven Days so a Plan Was
Needed!
  • I poured through numerous travel guides.
  • I searched for information on the internet.
  • I managed to create a very complete but
structured itinerary (I knew who I was traveling
    with!)

5
After months of planning, it was finally
departure day.
  • It was a pretty long flight for someone who
    doesnt like flying very much!

6
There Were Several Factors Essential to My
Itinerary
  • The first was to purchase a 1 week metro pass.
  • The second was to remain energized.
  • The third and final factor was to stay focused
my family needed some help with that one!

7
Not Everything Always Goes According to Plan!
  • When the photo machines are out of order but no
one has put up a sign, it can lead to major
delays in getting your metro pass.
  • Jetlag can make everyone sleepy.
  • Your family may get sidetracked when they spot
    their favorite store Galeries Lafayette!

8
Some Things Do Go According to Plan
  • In seven days we were able to see many of the
best sights of the City of Lights.
  • We climbed many monuments.
  • We toured several museums.
  • We visited countless churches.

9
On Top of the World
  • After the first 360 steps we were out of breath.
  • After the next 359 steps we forgot why we wanted
to climb when there was a perfectly good
    elevator.
  • But the view at the top reminded us why!

We really wanted to reach the top of the Eiffel
Tower!
10
Dining Out in Paris Can be a Unique Experience
  • Loosely translated, many of the menu choices
    just dont sound very appetizing!
  • Goose liver.
  • Stinky cheese.
  • And most unappealing of all - frog legs!

11
Yet, if youre brave, it soon becomes clear as to
why they are considered delicacies.
  • La cuisse de Grenouille really does taste like
    chicken.
  • Nothing is creamier than fresh Chevre.
  • And goose liver is magically transformed into
    Foie Gras.

12
Time for the Wedding
  • We had been having such a great time seeing the
sights and our holiday was almost over but we
still had one very important place to go.
  • How would we get there?
  • Why wed rent a car.
  • What an adventure!

13
The Big Event
  • The wedding was held in a beautiful chateau just
    outside of Paris.
  • We had a wonderful time but my sister was not
very popular with some of the brides cousins
they felt her arms were too long!

14
Time to Say Au revoir!
  • Despite getting sidetracked we saw an
unbelievable amount of Paris in only seven days.
  • Once I graduate, I plan to go back and spend some
time in one of my favorite cities.
