Family Weekend Retreat
  • This LTC retreat is scheduled for August
    22nd-23rd. We encourage any family, with or
    without children, to attend and encourage our
    young people in this ministry.
  • If you are interested in attending this retreat,
    please meet with Chris and Chandra Clark tonight
    at
  • 500 p.m. in the Blue Room to finalize trip
    arrangements.

Bible School Teachers
  • The new education quarter begins August 3rd. If
    you will teach or be an assistant any time during
    the remainder of this year, please sign the list
    on the bulletin board.
  • This sign-up list is for all age groups, cradle
    roll through adult. For the adult classes, please
    list the topic you would like to teach or leave
    it blank if you would like topic/material
    assistance.
  • See Gene Burbage, Dwight Stewart or Rick
    Hatfield if you have any questions.

Building Fund
  • Thanks to all who have contributed to the
    Building Fund! When contributing to the Building
    Fund, please clearly indicate your intent on your
    check (in the memo section write Building Fund)
    or on an envelope for cash donations write
    Building Fund.

Building Renovation Update
  • Important dates for July August.
  • Wednesday, July 30th - We need help removing song
    books, cards and pencils from the racks after
    classes. LTC will help with this Service
    Challenge activity. Please see Chris or Chandra
    Clark if you can assist. We need several adults
    to help supervise.
  • Saturday, August 2nd - We will begin the day with
    a prayer breakfast beginning at 830 in the blue
    room. Men's prayer breakfast attendees and
    Saturday workers (men and women) who have signed
    up are invited. A home cooked breakfast will be
    provided. Afterwards, we will begin removing the
    old pews carpet and prepare the auditorium for
    new carpet pews. We need as many able bodied
    men and women as we can get to volunteer to come
    on the 2nd to help. Due to the nature of the
    work, please do not bring your children.
  • There is a sign-up sheet on the table in the
    front hall. Sign up if you know you can be here.
    Lunch will be provided for the workers.
  • (See Barbara Martin if you can help provide
    food.)

Building Renovation Update
  • Important dates for July August.
  • Sunday, Aug. 3rd, Wed., Aug. 6th - Our worship
    assembly will be held in the Family Life Center.
  • Monday, August 4th - We will finish removing the
    old pews carpet. There is a sign-up sheet on
    the table in the front hall. Please sign it if
    you know you can be here on the 4th.
  • Sunday, Aug. 10th, Wed., Aug. 13th - Our worship
    assembly will be held in the Family Life Center.
  • Sunday, Aug. 17th, Wed., Aug. 20th - Our worship
    assembly will be held in the Family Life Center.
  • Sunday, August 24th - Our worship assembly will
    be held in the newly renovated auditorium.

Men's Retreat/Whitewater Rafting
  • Attention all men! Please contact Jim Landers
    today if you are interested in attending a 2 day
    men's retreat/rafting trip. The trip will cost
    50 (due today) which includes lodging, the
    middle Ocoee trip, and two meals. You will leave
    late Friday afternoon on August 8th return late
    on Saturday, August 9th. The theme and lesson
    will be on the Leadership Lessons of Jesus.
    Please attend a brief meeting in the Blue Room
    today, immediately after our morning worship.

Wedding
  • Together with their families, Melissa Renee
    Hinton and James Eric Morris invite you to attend
    their wedding on Saturday, the second of August,
    two thousand and eight, at two o'clock in the
    afternoon, Highland Park Church of Christ, Muscle
    Shoals, Alabama.

Baptisms
  • We rejoice that Madison O'Quinn, Julie O'Quinn
    and Kayla Wilkins were baptized Wednesday night
    and have been added to the Lord's church.

Congratulations
  • Keith Holcombe's team are the state Dixie youth
    baseball champions in his age bracket. His team
    will begin the World Series on August 4th in
    Georgia.

Prayer Requests
  • Charles Wheeler - He came home from UAB on
    Tuesday (7/22). He is too tired and weak to
    receive visitors right now but your prayers and
    cards are very much appreciated.
  • Pat Ramsden - She fell last Sunday and broke her
    other arm. Continue to pray for healing as she
    deals with two broken arms.
  • P.L. Roycroft - Mary's husband was admitted to
    Northport DCH 301 earlier last week for tests.

Prayer Requests
  • Woody Latham - He was having problems with his
    hands last week so he was admitted to DCH for
    tests. He has not had a stroke and after other
    tests he was discharged on Friday (7/25).
  • Keith McAlister - Kayron Berrys brother has been
    diagnosed with a very aggressive form of throat
    cancer which has already spread to his lung and
    spinal area. His prognosis is not good. However,
    we are praying for complete healing from the
    Great Physician.

POWER Groups
  • POWER Group 1 Clark group will meet at the
    Clark's home at 500.
  • POWER Group 2 Wilkins/Chandler group will meet
    at Teresa Burns' home. Bring chips, desserts or
    drinks. Kids, bring your swim suits towels.
    Maps are in the foyer.
  • POWER Group 3 Plyler/B. Madison group will meet
    at the Smelser's home. Bring finger foods. Maps
    are in the foyer.
  • POWER Group 4 Hatfield/G. Madison group will
    meet in the auditorium.
