Introduction

• Hi, I am Lauralee, I have been studying floods.
• Floods are overflowing amounts of water on land.

Causes

• Floods are caused by heavy rain, rivers
  overflowing, ocean waves coming ashore, when snow
  melts too fast, or when dams or levees break.

Where It Happens

• Floods could happen anywhere at any time so it is
  best to always be prepared.

Consequences

• Floods can make systems fail.
• Soil erosion is also a big effect.
• Rivers flow above danger level.
• All rivers raise rapidly.

Preventions

• The safest thing to do is to head for higher
  grounds, and stay away from flood waters.
• Never try to walk, swim, drive, or play in flood
  waters.
