APMC Act Amendments

  • New APMC Bill introduced in the Assembly Session

  • Likely to be passed in the coming winter session
  • Pending passage, assistance to states for market

  • GOI could rope in national players in direct
    marketing/ contract farming / private markets.

  • Support for strengthening of quality control
    infrastructure needed

  • Organic farming standards for domestic
    certification needed.
  • Coverage of organic inputs under FCO desired
  • Scientific validation of ITK through ICAR needed
  • Crop Insurance reforms to be introduced urgently
  • GOI initiative to bring in Private Players to be
    intensified
