Aims
  • Each individual student to have their IOLP
    targets and action points online enabling more
    effective monitoring and evaluation of progress
    towards targets
  • - On line support for students in identifying
    learning style, setting targets, using learning
    style information in setting action points and
    evidencing achievement of action points
  • - To incorporate centrally held MIS data
    (learning style, STGT, attendance) enabling
    'live' data to inform IOLP process

  • Difficult to track and taking up huge amounts of

  • On line and available to staff and students at

Benefits for the learner
  • - Online IOLP will make the setting of targets
    and action points more meaningful through giving
    students far more support in understanding how to
    set and manage action points through on-line
    support
  • - Guidance given at the point of setting action
    point as to the means by which it can be
    evidenced
  • - Students will receive prompt feedback on action
    points.
  • - Improved access by students to record of action
    points set will improve the subsequent IOLP
    stages of monitoring and evaluation

  • Staff more confident in using on line centrally
    held MIS information.
  • Staff more confident in using on line
    communication and tracking with students
  • An improvement in the quality of student set
    action points being meaningful and relevant to
    the curriculum area

Benefits to the college
  • On a strategic level
  • The ILT action plan 2004 - 06 identifies 'making
    more effective the teacher/ learner partnership.'
    as a key theme in how ILT can make the college an
    effective and integrated learning environment. On
    line IOLP targets this theme through adding a
    further dimension to how students and staff
    interact and communicate
  • Through the IOLP process becoming more
    individualised in guiding students and staff
    towards more meaningful action points it serves
    to help deliver the college mission statement of
    'meeting the individual learning needs of all
    students'
  • On an operational level
  • The on line IOLP process will significantly cut
    down on administrative time and paper costs
