    be distributed evenly across a surface.

OSHA Regulations
  • 1921.452(m)
  • Crawling boards shall extend from the roof peak
    to the eaves when used in connection with roof
    construction, repair, or maintenance.
  • Crawling boards shall be secured to the roof by
    ridge hooks or by means that meet equivalent
    criteria (e.g., strength and durability).

  • Crawling boards shall be not less than 10 inches
    wide and 1 inch thick, with cleats having a
    minimum 1 x 1 1/2 inch cross-sectional area. The
    cleats shall be equal in length to the width of
    the board and spaced at equal intervals not to
    exceed 24 inches.

  • Employees on a crawling board shall be protected
    by a personal fall arrest system, a guardrail
    system (with minimum 200 pound top rail
    capacity), or by a three-fourth inch (1.9 cm)
    diameter grab-line or equivalent handhold
    securely fastened beside each crawling board.
