Key Challenges to the implementation of MeTA
  • Stakeholder engagement and maintaining interest
  • Insufficient legislation/regulation and excessive
    bureaucracy
  • Difficulties in extracting information
  • Lack of tools for accessing information

Lessons learned (1)
  • Consensus is the base for MeTA, so it needs a
    constant exchange of views
  • Commitment of people is key
  • Multi-stakeholder process is not easy
  • Legal entity of MeTA is difficult and needs to be
    linked to other organizations
  • Support of MeTA International Secretariat is
    vital
  • MeTA members can learn from each other and shape
    government policy

  • Staying focused on the objectives will drive the
    process forward
  • Actors in MeTA need medicines and management
    expertise
  • MeTA should take note of political issues
