What is Collaborative Editing?

• designed to allow multiple users to edit a
  document over a network. 
• Editing a document can be done either at the same
  time (synchronous) or at different times
  (asynchronous). 
• Our goal is to create a plug-in for Microsoft
  Word that will allow multiple users access to the
  same document for editing.
