Jetty Construction RehabilitationHistory
  • 1898 Construction of the south jetty began.
  • 1898 - 1904 Point Chehalis shoreline accreted
and moved westerly a maximum of 3,000 ft just

    later became Westhaven State Park.
  • 1902 - Present. The Jetty has been lowered,
raised, shortened and lengthened in an effort to
stabilize the erosion and accretion effects at a
taxpayer cost of 100s of millions of dollars.
