• 1 Corinthians 69-11

People of Change

• 1 Corinthians 69-11 Do you not know that the
  unjust will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do
  not be deceived Neither the sexually immoral nor
  idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor
  homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy
  nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will
  inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some
  of you were. But you were washed, you were
  sanctified, you were justified in the name of the
  Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

1. Seek Intimacy with Jesus Christ.

• Do you not know that the unjust will not inherit
  Gods Kingdom? (9)
• Unjust describes a life that reflects no
  relationship to Jesus Christ. Kingdom describes
  the rule of God in your life experienced only
  through a relationship to Jesus Christ.
• Passion for Jesus is the radical driver of change
  in the human heart.

2. Refuse to Accept the Domination of Sin as a
Way of Life.

• Do not be deceived (9)
• Persons deceived and dominated by sin
• Dont see the need to change.
• Dont really want to change.
• Dont know how to change.
• Dont seem able to change.
• Dont feel responsible to change.

3. Believe that Every Change God Requires is
Possible.

• Some of you were like this. (11)
• Peter was changed from denying Christ to
  declaring Christ.
• Paul was changed from being a persecutor of the
  church to becoming a preacher in the church.
• People have been experiencing radical changes
  accomplished by Christ for 2000 years.

4. Rely On God to Achieve the Impossible
Elements of Change.

• But you were washed, you were sanctified, you
  were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus
  Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (11)
• These impossible elements of change include...
• Forgiveness for past sins.
• Freedom from the control of sin.
• Faith that God wants to use me.

Can People Really Change?

• The answer is linked to a personal encounter and
  walk with Jesus Christ.
• The question you need to consider is not can I
  change? but rather, will I trust Jesus Christ
  to change me?
