GOA
  • Goa, a tiny emerald land on the West Coast of
India with its natural scenic beauty is a
masterpiece of nature. Known as the Pearl of the
Orient, Goa beckons with its natural beauty,
stretches of pristine white sand, mesmerizing
palm trees, white churches resting against lush
green paddy fields and strumming of guitars from
distant taverns to make Goa a perfect hideaway
for those seeking respite from the concrete
jungle of modern civilization. Goa with its
attractive beaches and temples, old Goan homes
famous for its architecture, feasts and festivals
and above all hospitable people with the rich
cultural milieu have an ideal touristic profile.

  • With a
coastline of around 25 to 40 Kms, nested
in-between the warm boundless blue of the Arabian
Sea and the slopes of the Western Ghats, the
beaches serve up great aqua sports, fishing and
snorkeling experience for marine enthusiasts. One
can scuba dive into a few wrecks dating to the
colonial Portuguese era, para-sail, water ski,
sail and wind surf. You can take diving lessons,
embark on fishing trips, dolphin cruises,
crocodile spotting in backwaters or just sail to
deserted islands and have a beach bar-be-que.

  • Goa was a Portuguese colony for 450
years and was liberated on 19 December 1961.
Since then it has assimilated in the Indian ethos
but still has maintained its distinct identity in
its life style, music, dance, food, drinks and
its festivals. Panjim the capital of Goa,
having preserved its heritage remarkably well, is
vested with private houses and government
buildings that date back to Portuguese times.

Goa
  • Some of the famous beaches in Goa are, Sinquerim,
Calangute, Baga, Anjuna, Vagator, Morjim and
Cavelossim, Varca, Benaulim last being famous for
turtle nesting. Large airy balconies, houses with
red roofs, narrow roads, wooded hills, baroque
churches, ancient temples and old Goan mansions
with their wide long verandahs, along-with
mangrove backwaters is an experience which would
fill your heart with something more than just
    tranquility.
  • This
paradise is an astonishing mix of traditional and
contemporary elements and manages to keep a happy
balance between preserving its cultural heritage
and allowing new impulses to bring about change.
The zest of Goans for music and dance is amply
reflected in its festivals like Carnival, Holi,
Diwali, and Easter besides of course Christmas
and New Year, which is a weeklong party.
  • Goa serves an incredible range of exotic
delicacies hence it has got its name Gourmet
Paradise. It has a wave of fusion restaurants
like Italian, Mexican, Chinese and Thai. One can
savor North Indian, Punjabi Mughlai cuisine.
The haunting flavors of Goan cuisine
unforgettably tantalize the taste buds. A visit
to seaside shacks is a must where one can have a
sumptuous taste of fish, prawns, crabs, calamari,
lobsters etc. One of the most traditional drinks
of India, Feni, comes from Goa, brewed from both
palm tree as well as caju fruit. Though all types
of liquors are readily available across the state
at a very reasonable price, the Goans are as
emotional about their feni as they are about
    their cuisine.

  • Goas
weather is warm but never too hot, temperatures
vary between 21 degree Celsius to 35 degree
Celsius (70F to 90 F) and features cloudless blue
skies except the monsoon the period between June
to September. However it is also during the
monsoons that Goa is at its most beautiful with
green fields and strong winds. Goan temples and
churches are a must see for all. Old Goa boasts
of the largest cathedral in Asia and the
magnificent Basilica, which houses the mortal
remains of St. Francis Xavier the patron St. of
Goa. Some of the best known Hindu temples are the
XIVth century Tambdi Surla in the far-east,
Mangueshi Temple with its mixed blend of
Architecture, Shree Mahalsa temple with its
exotic wooden carved pillars plus a host of other
    ancient churches and temples.

  • If you are interested in exotic birds
animals, Goa has wildlife sanctuaries, unspoiled
    countryside, grassy savannas tribal villages.
The biggest sanctuary, Bhagwan Mahavir wild life
sanctuary, is 240 sq. km of tropical forest. Some
of the common animals / birds are monkeys, wild
boars, deer, Indian bison, peacocks, Egrets,
spotted dove, painted bush quail, blue rock
pigeon, three toed kingfisher, golden oriole,
magpie robin and host of other land and water
    birds.

About Vagator
Vagator Beach is considered to be a most stunning
beach in Goa. It is conveniently separated from
another gorgeous beach called Anjuna by cliff
tops and parched grasslands. Dotted with numerous
dilapidated farmhouses and beautiful Portuguese
bungalows, Vagator Beach Goa is a picture perfect
place to bask in ideal holiday mood in Goa. On
Vagator Beach, Goa famous Chapora Fort is also
situated. Its invincible red ramparts very
beautifully grace the white sandy expanse of the
beach. This apart, Vagator Beach in Goa has a
very pristine and relaxed ambience. Hence it is
again a good place to throw party and enjoy
unrestrained hours of revelry. How to Reach To
reach Vagator Beach from Panjim first you need to
catch bus to Mapusa beach. The bus stand in
Mapusa is located on the main road and is about 1
km from the beach. KTC bus station is the closest
interstate bus station at Mapusa. However, if you
are coming from Calangute or Baga, then it is
advised to take a taxi or a motorcycle as direct
buses from these two spots are not available.
City Info Situated on the western coast of
India in the coastal belt called Konkan, Goa is
popularly called by different names such as "Rome
of the East", "Tourist Paradise" and "Pearl of
The Orient". All these phrases stand true for Goa
as it has so many things to offer to its
travelers and visitors. Its mesmerizing beaches,
Portuguese architectures, ancient monuments, holy
Hindu temples and renowned churches are simply
the ones that define the elegance and vibrancy of
the state.

  • Nirvana Nest Resort
  • Finally, a resort worthy of Vagator

Lack of decent accommodation Goa, the cockpit of
Indian Tourism enjoys a round the year season and
hence demand for rooms. But it totally lacks
accommodation for the travelers of the 21st
century. Both domestic and foreign travelers have
increased by over 50 year-on-year since
2001. Goa offers 6092 rooms in 83 classified
hotels as on 2007 with occupancy rates in excess
of 90 year-round. The upsurge of Indian economy
backed by enhanced and affordable air
connectivity have ensured huge influx of domestic
tourists thereby putting even higher pressure on
the already tight accommodation sector. This has
helped the resorts of quality and substance to
reduce allocation for charters thereby increasing
their revenues and occupancies through the ever
growing domestic market. Tourism is always
sustained by middle class tourists who look
forward to 3 4 star standard hotels which Goa
has extreme paucity. The Mayfairs USP would be
in-line with the above objective and opportunity.

  • Nirvana Nest Resort
  • Finally, a resort worthy of Vagator

Resort for the 21st century traveler By its very
name, the resort would appeal to the traveler.
European landscape, swimming, indoor and outdoor
activities, bar.all to attract the discerning
traveler. The existing hotels in the area are
somehow catering to the excessive demand but
there is a huge gap and this is likely to grow
many-fold. With new economy taking long strides
and the city expanding, the vaccum would be felt
further in these areas.
Resort Concept Resort accommodation is much more
than a decorated bedroom. It is an entire world
of comfort, fun and camaderie. Everything is
available, all the time, in a clean and aesthetic
environment. Ambience, style, facilities,
comfort,.each element must be carefully planned
and executed and perhaps most importantly,
maintained. It has to be affordable for most,
even for a week-end getaway. The location
selected at Varca, with lush green surroundings
amidst a plush field and within close proximity
of Varca beach, Railway Station, and direct
connectivity to the airport, would always be the
Resort loved by one and all.
