Our Purpose

• Promote greater recognition of Asian cultures,
  history, and heritage to The College of New
  Jersey community
• Support and focus on the needs of Asian students,
  faculty, and staff
• Through educational, cultural, and social
  programs, activities, and projects

Our History

• AAA was founded in 1989 by a group of student
  leaders interested in having an organization for
  Asian students
• AAA began with ten people working toward the
  goals of promoting Asian Awareness
• Over the years, the Asian American Association
  grew considerably (60-100 members)
• Programs were social as well as educational
• Done in conjunction with CUB and Trenton State
  College

Newsletter

• Incorporates topics addressing the Asian college
  community on the TCNJ campus, advertisements of
  events, reviews of programs, and insights about
  the organizations and college issues
• Organizes a staff of writers and delegate
  responsibilities in regard to the publication of
  the newsletter
• Layout and formatting, features, current events,
  advertisements, copy editing

Mystique of the East

• "Mystique" was born in 1992 as a one-night only
  showcase of Asian dances, songs, poetry, and
  martial arts
• Through the years, it has grown to be the hottest
  ticket on campus, annually packing in more than
  700 spectators in Kendall Hall every spring
• This is the biggest, most colorful, most
  beautiful production from AAA
• A show that makes AAA what it is now, a show that
  binds the members, and a show that is always
  memorable for the performers as well as the
  audience
