Concept and Motivation

• Concept This project will inform the individual
  in case of fire or break-in at the house by
  text-messaging of the cell phone.
• Motivation Not many residential structures
  smoke detectors are wired to the fire department
  or to individual. This prototype provides the
  efficient way to inform individual incase of
  troubled situation at home

Requirements

• 1. Functional requirement
• a. Sense the smoke or break-in and notify
  mainframe. (tmote)
• b. The mainframe acknowledges the sensor
  notifications.
• c. The mainframe sends out the network packet to
  the internet text messaging service
• d. The text messaging service sends text message
  to each individual
• 2. Non-functional requirement
• a. Timing requirement This is time critical
  mission. It should not take longer than a minute
  from sensing to text messaging.
• b. Reliability requirement It should minimize
  the False Alarm by calibrating the sensitivity
  of each sensor.
