The orders of architecture

• The architects who designed many of the houses
  in Georgian Bath used what are called the orders
  of architecture.
• Each order uses different types of columns and
  you can tell the difference by looking at the top
  (the capital)
• The three best known orders are
• Doric, Ionic and Corinthian.

  even a terrace (row of houses).
• To help, look at the Georgian Features handout
  which has images of all the things youll need to
  build your house.
• You can either
• cut out the features and arrange them to make a
  house
• OR draw your own house but make sure you include
  Georgian features!
