• What you will do
• Conduct an experiment using tomato seeds
• It will be a blind study using
• Earth Seeds Tomato seeds especially cultivated
  for food production on Earth. These are ordinary
  tomato crop seeds used for Earth-based tomato
  production.
• Treated Seeds Tomato seeds with exposure to
  conditions of increased deceleration forces and
  higher temperatures for a brief period to
  simulate the environmental conditions on the
  space craft as it enters Mars orbit
  (aerocapture).
• We will not know which seeds have been treated
  until completion of the germination process and
  results  have been submitted to Tomatosphere.

What predictions can we make about the results of
the Tomatosphere experiment?
You will conduct a scientific investigation in
which the germination properties of seeds are
examined. Based on the outcome of this
investigation conclusions will be drawn which
will facilitate the planning of long term
missions to the Moon and eventually, to the
planet Mars.
