What is a pharaoh?

• The pharaohs were the rulers of the Egyptians.
  They were called the Lords of the two lands and
  the high priests of every temple.

Some Interesting Pharaohs

• Some interesting pharaohs were King Tut,
  Cleopatra, and Djoser.
• King Tut was a pharaoh when he was 8 years old.
• Cleopatra was a famous woman pharaoh.
• Djoser invented the step pyramid. He ruled from
  2630 2611 B.C.

How did the pharaohs live?

• Pharaohs lived with their servants. They
  made all the laws and collected taxes. They
  owned all of the land and had armies to help
  protect Egypt against foreigners.

What happened when a pharaoh died?

• When a pharaoh died, he was mummified and
  wrapped in cloth and put into a coffin. Then he
  was put into a pyramid. The Egyptian people
  worshipped their pharaohs as gods.
