IBECS Database

• The Índice Bibliográfico Español en Ciencias de
  la Salud (The Spanish Bibliographic Index on
  Health Sciences IBECS) is an index coordinated
  by The National Library of Health Sciences in
  collaboration with BIREME. IBECS collects the
  literature on Health Sciences published in Spain
  since 2000.
• It gathers different Health Sciences subjects
  Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Psychology,
  Dentistry and Veterinary.
• The aim is to have an index to disseminate and
  access Spanish quality scientific and technical
  journals on health.
• IBECS uses the methodology and Thesaurus used by
  other databases like Lilacs and Medline (called
  Lildbi-DeCS).
  
• There is a Technical Committee that evaluates the
  journals to be accepted in the index, according
  to a pre-established quality control.

envisages the development of a common methodology
for the preparation, storage, dissemination and
evaluation of scientific literature in electronic
