MetaTrader 4

• MetaTrader 4 is a simple and easy to use trading
  program enabling access to the most advanced
  Forex trading tools.
• The program contains hundreds of technical
  analysis tools, advanced trading orders and many
  possibilities for customizing charts.
• In addition, you may add custom made automatic
  trading strategies and indicators.
• This guide will lead you, step by step, through
  the program, acquainting you with its various
  tools and the wide variety of trading
  alternatives.

The Trading window
A standard trading window may look something like
this

Market Display window

• This window displays the currency quotes
• Pair The currency pair
• Sell - This column displays the selling rates
• Buy - This column displays the buying rates
• High The highest rate since 2200 GMT
• Low - The lowest rate since 2200 GMT
• Time The time when the last quote was received
• New Order selecting this option will lead to
  the order window where you can open a new
  position.
• You can add or remove the columns in the Market
  Status window by right clicking on the window
  area and selecting the desired option
• Show all if not all pairs appear in the
  window then you can add them by pressing Show all

• Opening a new chart
• In order to open a new chart click on the desired
  pair in the Market Display window and while
  pressing the mouse, drag it to the chart window
  on the right.
• Another option
• Select File from the menu in option New
  Chart. A menu with a list of pairs will open.
  Select the desired pair

• In the Charts window you can simultaneously
  display several charts and arrange them
  conveniently.
• To reduce or enlarge a chart place the arrow on
  the edge of the chart, the arrow will become
  bi-directional, left click and drag the mouse in
  the desired direction.

In order to open one of the charts to a full
screen, double click the blue band on the top of
the chart. To return to the chart screen, press
the window and select the desired display.

• Oscillators
• Using the Menu window you may add indicators to
  the chart
• To open a list of indicators, press the plus sign
  on the left side of the word Indicators
• Select an indicator from the list, double click
  it and drag it towards the chart.
• A window with different settings for the
  indicator will appear you can change the
  settings.
• Press OK to display the indicator.

Oscillators (cont.) After pressing OK (no. 4 on
the previous slide), the selected indicator will
appear on the chart. The program enables you to
add and view several indicatsor together in the
same window or in separate windows. In a similar
way you can add additional indicators and
averages from the list.

• Deleting indicators
• In order to delete an indicator, you need to
  right click on one on the indicator lines and
  select the Delete Indicator option.

• Changing the look of the charts
• You can change the properties of the charts
• Right click on the chart area
• Select Properties
• A properties window will open in which you can
  change the colors.

• You can save the changes as a template and use it
  on other charts
• Right click on the chart area
• Select Template
• Select Save Template
• In the window that opens, name the template and
  select Save.
• The Template is saved under the name you have
  given

• In order to activate the saved template in a new
  chart
• Right click on the chart area
• Select Template
• Select Upload Template
• In the window that opens, select the template you
  created and press Open
• The Template will open with the design saved in
  the template
