What is the benefit of SASIC?
  • SASIC was specifically designed for the military
    community
  • SASIC provides not only substance abuse
    education, but leadership skills as well
  • This program was extensively researched from the
    Naval Health Research Center (NHRC)
  • This program is a behavior modification program
    designed to change thoughts on heavy alcohol
    usage
  • This program will not cost the Air Force any
    money other then training trainers and class
    materials

What Results Edwards has had with the SASIC?
  • SASIC training has been given to 5 of the NCOs
    on Edwards
  • The following statistics are based on evaluations
    from NCOs who have been trained
  • On a scale to 1 to 10 based on course
    effectiveness the SASIC received an average
    rating of 9.6
  • 98 of NCOs want this program to be implemented
    throughout the Air Force
  • NCOs report that this type of training should
    have been done long ago and that it works
